Holy Cow!
Maybe this article ran a month early. It certainly sounds more appropriate to April 1st (Fool's Day). Jessica Day sent me this link about an upcoming healthy alternative to American soft drinks. Cow urine, anyone?

This is a sweet idea from a kid who obviously has his heart in the right place - either that, or he was really thinking "fort" and repurposed his idea for the feel-good theme. Either way, I want one!

Howard Fineman makes a case for "Why Obama should make New Orleans Exhibit A in his argument for economic recovery."

Here's another New Orleans link from Jessica Garcia. A half dozen shootings in a single night? Who's counting?
Kenn Tucker send me an interesting link dealing with a phenomenon I must confess I had not heard of: global dimming. PBS's Nova has several interesting articles on the topic. The Contrail Effect is a great place to start.
What more can I say?
Another link from Susan Conklin makes me wonder what her research paper is going to be about :-)
Shocking discoveries and sad stories are coming to light around a Florida reform school.

Apparently the financial crisis is over, terrorism is no more, and everything is right in the world. What's the most important breaking news? According to the article linked below, "The New York Times, The Washington Post, and Fox News point to recent pictures of" President Obama's graying hair. This is news?
Thanks to Brandon Censon for pointing out how slow a news day it was.
On the surface, this looks like a case of a rotten doctor, but I'm sure the doctor has some explanation for the missed diagnosis. If this happened in the US, there would be a lawyer breaking down Ms. Edwards' door.

Vampires are lurking in your home and office - energy vampires!

All nighters used to be a normal part of my life when I was a student. As I've gotten older, I can't do as many hours straight (unless I'm running). Still, I relate to this article sent in by Kristina Marshall. 8 hours of sleep? Who gets that?
Having lived in Greenville, I can attest to the lack of excitement that town experiences. Perhaps that's why an average guy decided to shake things up a bit with an old fashioned bank robbery.
Kristina Marshall sent in the link to this CNN video.
I love that Kuniko Barnett sent in a link from NASA! I feel so authoritative :-)
Jessica Day sent in this link to a TIME article about the sick practice of some Iraquis selling their daughters as prostitutes. This happens elsewhere as well, but nowhere is it excusable.
I really don't want to comment on this one, except to say Michael Phelps will probably be happy.
Thanks to Jessica Day for sending in this link.
Here's another good link from Jessica Day. She writes, "My husband and I actually held one of these parties at our house a few weeks back after hearing about it through friends. Everyone that came left with more than $100 dollars (2 ppl left with over $500) and we made $700 in just one hour of cocktails and socializing! Much fun and brings a nice bit of $$$$ in this down market."
This is a mess. Congress gave AIG bail-out money without attaching strings. The public cried foul over the bonuses, so now Congress wants the money back as a tax. Why should we be surprised?
Thanks to Kristina Marshall for this link.
