Jessica Day:

I think it is just America's materialism getting to people. In this country, when you lose your job and your income, you feel you have lost yoursef, your soul so to speak. What we don't think about is that human beings in other countries around the world live on pennies a day. If this had happened to my family, I would have packed up my bags, moved somewhere nice and tropical (Hawaii or Fiji come to mind) and just start over fresh in some place new where no one knew my name. If I can be broke in America, I can be broke and happy on a beach somewhere far far away from American ideals. It saddens me to think that people care nothing more for their lives than what is in their bank account.
