New Art Exhibit in Our Library

Welcome back...a bit late, but we all been wildly busy! We are proud to announce a beautiful new exhibit that opened on January 14. This multi-media presentation is entitled Cultural Fusion and presents the work of some of the talented members of the Jacksonville Consortium of African American Artists (JCAAA). The JCAAA defines its mission as follows: to foster an environment which encourages African American arts and artists to flourish; to explore and create opportunities for African American artists in Jacksonville and surrounding areas; and to create meaningful works, exhibit widely and succeed in the business of art." We hope you will come visit the library and see these wonderful works. The exhibit will be here through February 16.

The next presentation in our "Something to Talk About" series will be on Wednesday, February 11. Professor John Taylor will discuss his experiences as a high school student in Little Rock, Arkansas when, 51 years ago, an angry mob thwarted the attempt to segregate the school. More details to follow.
